Re: Sellers in the old section, please read.

I like them both for different reasons. it takes some time, but I look through every thread in the old section. I'm guilty of it as well, but I try to list some things in the title even though I attempt to keep them funny. being here everyday of the week helps, and even on weekends I'll lurk the old section. beta is cool because of the easy search for anything specific. the only drawbacks to beta is the morons that list stems in with sprockets and the halfassers that forget to mark something sold.

OOOH! a part I want! big_smile

30 seconds later...

MFer listed it 14 months ago. mad

Actually i think the staff are about 50/50 on that.

Half of them work hard and the other half don't do shit.

...keep in mind that they do have a normal life and I am sure it's cyclical meaning I am sure they are busier at times than others at any given time.  I have done it b4 on another site so it is a PITA at times.  The real problem is when you do it for the wrong reasons.

....and with a site that sees so much traffic-this runs rather well....believe me.

Haven't been there in years. The one in Lethbridge was great!

Re: Sellers in the old section, please read.

I'm fairly new here, on this forum, and really like the two selling forums.  But, I have to say that the "old" forum is more interesting. Each thread reminds me of  when I was a little kid and had just  purchased a grab bag... Anxiously wanting to look to see what was inside! finding cool surprises! The "Beta" forum reminds me of eBay- plain but direct. Interestingly, the  several purchases that I have made here so far , 14 or 15, about 11 have been from the "old" forum. I always check both selling forums, but I see more "junk" in the Beta section. One thing I do like about the Beta forum though, is the way it keeps track of communication, by adding the title and selling page link on the body of the message. It saves me time, as I usually have to open a new tab when PMing someone and having to manually ad the link and  page title, on the old forum. I find this site, the bmxmuseum forum, very unique in which users have two distinctive selling/buying  locations for its members.
In short, I say keep both, the "Old" and the "Beta" forums!

Re: Sellers in the old section, please read.

if you have more feedback than posts, you're here for the wrong reason. if you have 259 items for sale in beta, S a D.

I find beta easier to list on and buy, but my photos never post. I also find the prices better on old for sale.

I had the same problem before. I realized that photobucket automatically resizes them for you, so upload them to photobucket first, then drag them back onto your desktop. then proceed.

Re: Sellers in the old section, please read.

I just think some for sale items..should just be in pay it forward.

Dented up items?

holes rusted through?

cracks all over?

sand blasted?

milled dropouts?

broken dropouts?

There are the bad times of the year (like this month) and there are good times where stuff sells, and offers are thrown at you every minute.

I've used both sections to buy, sell.  but I mainly try using search for both.   If the search don't find what I want in the old section, usually don't even look at the threads.
beta is probably getting some changes for ease of use, but the guys just looking to throw away money are still better off with the old section.
