1988 Haro Group1 RS1

One of my favorites

I realize it is not a true "Team" model since it doesn't have the OG cranks etc etc. but i built it custom to my likes and figured it still deserves the "Team" title since it does have very good supplementented parts for the OG team parts.
Here is my Group1 after mine having gotten stolen like 20 yrs ago. I was able to get the same frame and forks in the exact same color I used to have and am now in the process of finishing it off.
Here is a list of the parts so far.
Frame and Fork: Haro Group1 RS1
Seatpost: Haro Fluted
Crankset: GT Power Series 3 pc. (Polished)
Pedals: Odyssey Black Widow
Chainring: GT Racing
Stem: GT Power Series (I think) (Polished)
Bars: Haro Kneesavers (Freestyle)
Grips: A'Me
Seat: Hoffman Bikes
Seatclamp: GT (polished)
That's it so far. Have the wheelset on the way (thanks to Fenwaykid for the sale of these) and the Dia-Compe AD990 are on the way also. Got the decals for the cranks from Rividude from here. (thanks rividude for the fast sale and shipping on those - I am VERY happy with em).
More photos to come when done. Would like to powdercoat it but I am have the worst luck finding the stickerset for this bike. But if I ever do it will be going in for the new set and Powdercoat.
When the good weather comes I am hoping to get some outside shots of it too.
Thanks for looking.

Re: 1988 Haro Group1 RS1

hey, great ff combo but i think its an 88, not an 87. whats the serial start with? the 88's did not have the chrome rear triangle like the 86 & 87's did. hope u get it done soon!:)

Re: 1988 Haro Group1 RS1

the serial number starts off H87106.... I believe they came out with this color in the late part of 87 - november I have been told, so it does look like the 88 model due to color scheme. All that is left to do now is the wheelset which is on the way and the 990 brake which is on the way also.

Re: 1988 Haro Group1 RS1

I dig these bikes.  I do prefer the chrome rear end on the earlier ones, and I personally don't care for the grey, but sweet bike nonetheless.  :D

Re: 1988 Haro Group1 RS1

I've wanted one of these since the first time I saw one. Pistol Pete is coming back to racing in 2012! Got me thinking about these bikes again.

Re: 1988 Haro Group1 RS1

Pistol Pete, back in racing 2012?  Would be cool for him to come to Rockford this year.  Got to bring the Group 1 loving.

Looking for 1988 Haro Group 1 RS4 frame and forks.  Straight top bar.  Late build 87 serial numbers okay.

Thanks man. She's still in survivor mode at the moment but I do have the decals to redo her when she's ready ;)
