1998 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
1998 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
Non-Looptail Firemans Texas Cruzer
First of all........I need to thank Greg Munday for being the stand up guy that he is..... anyone who knows him knows he does this for the love of cruisers....besides that he sent me a new set of decals for this one.........Thanks Greg for all you do.......
One can't have too many Firemans ... especially when they are as nice as this one..
Fellow BMX Museum patron, Brian C, donated this frame to the cause (for a price I couldn't refuse)....Thanks Brian.
This is one from the very first batch of FTC.
Its a piece of Austin cruiser history......
The non-looptail frames are about 2 inches longer than the others and ride like a dream.......true and straight.
As it sits today...........
Paul Motolite brakes F&R
Paul Compact Love levers
Profile Racing High Flange Hubs laced to Sun CR18 rims w/ DT Swiss spokes--(I'm getting better at this wheel building stuff)
Profile 175mm crank and Evolution BB
S&M XLT stem
S&M cruiser bars
New Firemans Beef Master fork
Chris King headset

wow. Wow. WOW! Mark, you really have done quite a number on this build. It looks SO GOOD! Love the Firemans 4 Headtube decal. Nice touch. This is definitely the nicest original Firemans build-out ever!!
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

Re: 1998 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26
Thank you very much for your kind words...................
Even though I used the new style lettering (the dark yellow really stands out) I just couldn't bring myself to use the new style head tube logo..... and Greg didn't have any more of the old style decals so the Firemans 4 decal had to do the trick.
By the way..... I got a hand full of them last summer when a friend and I toured the Real Ale Brewery in Blanco.
They're open to the public on Friday afternoons......free tour and all the samples of Real Ale products you care to taste.
That Friday they had tapped into their stock of 15th aniversary Russian Stout...105 degrees outside and free beer what a combination....only in Teaxs.

Ironically, I happened to sell a chrome GT seatpost to the dude you moved it on to. Sorry you had to let it go, but you still have tons of good shit...
hope you're doing well
