Re: 1999 Reynolds Racing Formula

I used to ride with Craig a lot. He was close with my buddy Dinger. We all rode Tim Dinger's "Butter" trails as well as Steve Schwartz's Monee trails together. I saw Craig a lot at Walworth County Indoor and many of the summer ABA Nationals races. Overall, he was a great guy, a good rider, and one hell of a role model. His products were awesome, too.

The red RR shown is a 1999 model. Craig didn't begin making frames until 1993. He ran his company out of his parents' garage back then. I believe cyclecraft welded his first frames for him.

A few years later, around 1996ish, he updated the frame design to what you see on the red frame in the picture. Kastan did the welding. These bikes began being distributed by System Cycle Supply along with the entire DK product line.

I have owned a few Reynolds Racing bikes throughout the years. As a matter of fact, I owned the first red frame ever made. The original frames were only made in black and white. The Kastan frames came in white, black, and blue. His final production year, he offered red. I'd like to think my custom red frame was the inspiration for his decision.

I want a Reynolds Racing frame. I plan on finding one and building it up as soon as I can. I sold my last RR frame to some kid in Dekalb, IL in 1999. Shame on me.

Re: 1999 Reynolds Racing Formula

The owner of a local LBS owns a black RR bike. I doubt he'd ever sell it though lol

It's nice to be important but its more important to be nice.

Re: 1999 Reynolds Racing Formula

This bike closely resembles my 2000 Badd cruiser.... square/rectangular chainstays and all.  I had read somewhere that Kastan might have welded the Badd's for a while too.  Same bikes, same metal, same welders?

is it for sale

You've asked that on EVERY post you've replied to.
I think if any bike was for sale, it would either be posted on the "FOR SALE" forum, or would mention for sale in their post.
