1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
I don't really know much about this model Goose. Its from 1989 and such riders as Eric Rupe, Travis Chipres and Sam Arellano all rode these back in the day. The color of this frame was known as "Blue Spangle". If anyone has pics or scans of this model Mongoose then I would love to see them. I scored this frame a few days ago and have already began working on it.....Updated pics coming soon!

Re: 1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
A guy I met from the bike shop swap stopped by my house today and bought a few things out of my parts bin. He brought one of these frames with him in Chrome. He brought it with him to see if I could identify it. He said it had been rechromed. The chrome looked fresh but it wasn't the best chrome job. It looked almost like a brushed finish. Anyway he said he was going to build it up and ride it. The frame did not have the original decals on it.

Re: 1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
Hello, I have found one of these recently and there is not much information about this particular model. I'm going to put it on Ebay starting Monday 31/12 and I hope it goes to a good home...

I would be interested in buying it. Can I make an offer on it before you put it on ebay?

Re: 1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
Hey revcore ! Thanks for the offer but I want to but it on the Bay for a few reasons... I have been offered different amounts for it before, it has a bit of damage and may only appeal to the restorer, it is a hard frame to find and only one pic of it in the museum is testimony to this. I want the general community to decide what it's worth ! Love this site !

Re: 1989 Mongoose Californian Pro
A buddy of mine still has one of the proto-types.
planetbicycle@yahoo.com
Would love to find my old Dirt Bike. It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996. It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame. Pitchforks, Slam bars, King Headset, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks. Superlace hubs. Would really love to put this back in my collection.
