Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

Here is the my first  bike I completed for the build off, I have never submitted any bike for any build off before. In 1996 I was one of the Three founders of Eastern Bikes when we had our fist batch of frames made they were made by Greg Esser at MCS in Florida. I called Greg and asked him to make me a 19 inch top Tube for me to ride Flatland. This is the Bike that I rode in the 1997 and 1998 X Games for Flatland. All of the bikes I am submitting I have rode at some point . This bike has been retired for a while and I recently took everything apart and polished and painted a few things and put on a new set of tires. This is the only 19 inch top tube Eastern Commando made in 1996. I also was on the cover of BMX Plus! in 1997 with this bike . The Decals are what we used in 1998 , The orgianal 1996/97 decals did not have bikes under the name. The handle bars I had made by Flying W and were one of a kind. Also if you notice there is a flaw in the frame stand, one side is shorter than the other.

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

This is my 2nd Submission to the build off. This is the very first Eastern BANDIT  Prototype. When we first received it I had the Seat stay really tucked , tucked to the point it was difficult to run a chain. It was sent back to TNT (by 1998 we were using TNT to make frames) the seat stay was redesigned. In the end we did not use this design but I did ride it for over a year. The frame has been in storage for over 10 years I pulled it out and used rubbing compound and wax on the frame. The wheels when I rode this bike were spray pained gloss red , I stripped them and repainted or better yet canodized them. The bars , cranks stem forks and brakes are what I run on the bike in 1998, the have been cleaned and polished. The brake levers also are the very first modulvers with braided cables. I have always been a fan of "Smokey and the Bandit" which is why I wanted to call the frame the "Bandit". It was only fitting that I put beside the King BMX Quarter Trailer with the infamous Bandit scene, the same as the mural on the truck in the movie.[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7488-1.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7667.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7500.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7491.jpg

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

Here is my 3rd submission. I sold my part of Eastern in 2001 and parted ways. I had a company in Oregon make a few Aluminum flatland frames . This was the Prototype and very similar to the Schwin Azereal. There were about 10 of these made. This is also the bike I rode in 2002 in the National TV Commercial for BC Powder. I had the frame tore down and displayed with a few trophies in my Guest room for the last 5 or 6 years. I had all of the parts scattered with he exception of the bars. I still ride 44 bars on my daily rider bikes. After I found some bars and hub assembly for the back wheel I did a build last month and got everything back together. Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

In 2004/2005 I was restoring my 1985 Haro master and decided to have a King Frame painted at the same time. I found some decals online that Chip at C4 was selling and talked him into making me some KING Freestyler decals. At this point I was new to the Vintage BMX world and had no idea that anyone was fixing up old bikes etc. I also at this time decided to make my KING bike as a retro tribute similar to my Haro , in 2005 I had been riding for 20 years so it was sort of a tribute to my 20 years in Freestyle BMX. I stopped riding this bike around 2006. Recently it was tore down cleaned , waxed , etc. There are few scratches here and there. When we are on the road I always wrap my bikes in a moving blanket to keep them from getting beat up . All the bikes I have posted for this contest have not been repainted only washed waxed and touch up paint on levers and pegs.[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7579.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7550.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7548.jpg[img][/img]http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee412/KINGBMXStuntShow/IMG_7547.jpg

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

My 2nd and last submission- It has the following two elements...48 spoke wheels and GT Airbag 2.1 freestyle tires. I have plans of adding a different stem, rear u-brake, gyro, and pegs..but I ran out of money and do not foresee it being complete before this contest ends so the 2 elements will have to do for now. The frame is a 1999 Raw Slammer frame. It has new:KGB Electro bars, Zion Luna flatland fork, St. Martin front u-brake, Redline cranks, purple bottom bracket, Shadow Scream purple sprocket, Shadow Interlock V2 chain, Animal Hamilton purple pedals, GT chromo layback post, Shadow purple logo slim seat, Odyssey Midway/Gsport rear wheel w/Odyssey 13T freewheel, Haro Heffer Pro/Sun Ringle front wheel, FSA DH Pro sealed bearing headset, Shadow grips/Mankind bar ends, Shadow purple brake cable. And a lightly used polished GT Piston stem.

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

Well here is my entry.  I did a tribute bike to Vans, my favorite shoe company off all time.  I tried to keep as many of the parts in survivor condition with a little cleaning and polishing here and there to clean up the rust.  I received the F/F with alot of rust on it and gave it an OA bath and it cleaned up nicely.

Parts list
F/F-  88 Osborn Pro survivor
Bars-  Redline FS forklifters wrapped in Vans and other decals(thanks Wired for an awesome job on the decals)
Levers-  Survivor white Tech 7's
Stem-  ACS 45 slant stem in silver
Seatpost-  Alps brand.  Was white stripped and polished up a bit
Seat-  Kashimax Aero
Grips-  Red/White Unitrons
Brake cables-  Porkchops in red
Seatclamp-  Repowdered in black Peregrine clamp with red decal
Cranks-  OG black 3 piece Peregrine 1st gen with a peregrine disc
Pedals-  OG Ano red
Chain-  Silver Izumi
Brakes-  Front nippon polished with red inlay with Vans pads.  Rear black 990.
Wheels-  Peregrine superpros
Tires-  Peregrine HP
Valve caps-  Porkchop black/red dice

I used 48 wheels, FS tires and a rotor.

Today wasn't a sunny day so these pics are the best I could do.

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

1987 Boss Competition Freestyler

Here's a little background info to start.  There are two versions of the Boss Freestyle bike, one was sold as a f/f/bars only combo (PFS) and the other was sold as a complete (CFS).  The only difference, that I know of, between the two are the welded on rear brake cable guides that are on the CFS but not the PFS.  I still haven't been able to source any CFS decals but I thought I'd post up the bike anyway since today is the deadline.

Items incorporated:

a. Gyro and Potts Mod
b. Freestyle/street tread tires
c. Standers (pegs, fork standers, top tube platform)
e. Seat has a grab handle
f. Neon or pastel color(s)

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

Here's my submission. 1983 Skyway T/A, original chrome finish. Here's the backstory. I wanted to reproduce my "prestyler" bike from BITD. As soon as I learned that I wasn't very good at racing, off came the Arayas, on went the mags, Potts mod, and Skyway axle extenders.
This build was for my own satisfaction, but I figured I'd enter it here, as it fits the criteria (and I think it's hot).

1983 Skyway T/A (early Japan model)
CW Bars
ACS Stoker stem w/ Potts mod bolt
Tuf Neck power disc
Chopsaw chainring
Dia Compe 890 brakes, Tech 6 levers
Takagi 175 cranks
Skyway mags, comp III tires
Skyway axle extenders (from my original bike)
Porkchop:

pedals
post
clamp
chain
chainring
grips
levers
cables

Re: SUBMISSIONS: Porkchop BMX 2011 Freestyler Build Off

The 2 Week Wanderer!

I built this in 2 weeks just in time for this build off and also for my son. All parts were picked up from sellers here and Porkchop BMX.
I dont have a few things on it because I ran out of time and still somewhere in the mail ha! No powder coating done, parts only cleaned up so everything is as the way it was received.
