1990 GT Performer

1990 Performer Only year for the "road hazard" decal set I believe. A theft recovery,father/son project. Hope you like it.

Found put out to pasture by a friend and given to my son a few years back. We cleaned it up a lil' and it was stolen two weeks later. It was recovered by a neighbor over a year later minus the front wheel and decals. We vinegar bathed it and sourced most of our parts here for a mild restoration and he could not be happier. Thanks to this community for it's help, that we(my 12 year old Alex and I) are proud to be a part of.

Re: 1990 GT Performer

you have your self a nice save and build  ...It could be a 90 or 91 but its not a PFT... looks to be a late 90 or 91 performer......post up the serial number and that can help place the year or era of the frame..

Re: 1990 GT Performer

I was under the impression that this was a 1990 PFT by the original decal set that was on the bike(same as pictured. The serial is GH89100334. Can one of the GT gurus please advise. Thanks

Re: 1990 GT Performer

looks like a early 90 performer  with the rare PFT hazzard decals.. very nice bike to have...the serial number shows it a 90 model and made in Japan..Im just gonna make guess that its not a pft by the Japan serial and has the typical 90's performer frame.. I  have not seen a overseas PFT since 86 models, but you never know..

Re: 1990 GT Performer

I only saw that decal set in one year of the scanned catalogs and that's what was on it. BTW about to do a full resto after I sell the Ricochet. You wouldn't happen to know where I could find another set. The last set me back like $40.00 bucks..

Re: 1990 GT Performer

So what's the difference between GT Performer serial numbers which start in GH & KS?  GH from Japan.  KS by Kinesis from Taiwan?  What's the catch?  Please explain, I'm about to make a purchase, one bike begins w/ GH & the other w/ KS?  KS is more, why?
