Re: Sidehacks....for those that dont know!
I just dont get them at all, whats the point of them? where would the need for them originated? wasnt any in my area, so maybe thats why I cant get excited about them at all, feel the same way about "pit bikes" no clue to why anybody would spend a nickle on them, but thats just me, that being said if it floats your boat go for it, and you guys DEFINATLY go for it!

Too funny that u've asked, because we're also in the works of making a 24" sidehack. Like I said in my post, we plan on making a business out of this and single frames too. Here's a link:

This is a small vid of Grey and Truly at one of our many SoCal gatherings and a pic I took.
BTW,these guys are 2 of the nicest cats you could ever meet. I have yet to see them without a smile.
I just wish there were more BMXrs like them
Welcome to the museum guys

Tell um Truly!,
They must of forgot where BMX was born . . . Thats the difference between BMX in So.Cal vs. other states, lack of history!

what a silly thing to say, guess if you didnt live in cali you better sell your stuff off...... lame. btw we had sanctioned races in Idaho in 78. and yeah AS stated in above posts we didnt have them and I dont get them at all, never will wasnt in my area ever, and like I stated also, if you like it go for it. Its like discounting freestyle as not a part of bmx history because you didnt do it, I have had people say that to me, and they see zero value in it, and that isnt what I am saying about hacks at all, I just have NO experience with them. my post above seemed negative I am sorry for that.

No history!? Now that's just uncalled for!
We've got plenty of history here on the east coast and an appreciation for the west coast and the riders from the west. I got to see PK, Stu, Breithaupt, Byron Friday, David Clinton on a Kawasaki BX, Bobby Encinas and a few other famous names from SoCal at the Marietta BMX track for our July 4th race in '76 when Scot's bus tour came through Georgia. It was my first look at a Tuff Wheel.
You guys had the Gold Cup in the Coliseum and we had BMX racing in the Orange Bowl. I read about Saddleback and lots of other West Coast tracks everytime I picked up my Bicycle Motocross News paper at Kegel's Atlanta Schwinn looking for my name in the NBL or NPSA race results. We've got history!
I even got to Monkey a couple of times when I was young. Jumps were a lot smaller back then and turns weren't bermed. I remember a lot of leaning and pushing (kicking really) as monkey. I bet that racing hacks is were the two footed start idea came from. We even had one guy who would start out with both the rider and the monkey running/pushing off the gate. He even tried it for a while on his regular BMX bike. Those were days of innovation! They even changed the Marietta track to a "downhill" format turning the start hill 90 degrees up a 30 or 40 foot embankment where we used to park the cars and watch the races from. Never tried that on a hack though.

Re: Sidehacks....for those that dont know!
Sorry if my last quote came out wrong . . . All we're saying is: Don't hate but appreciate! We're just trying to bring back another aspect of BMX . . .

Because then it would look like the Saturday Night Live cartoon ambiguosly gay duo (not that there's anything wrong with that).
I believe the first time I saw a side hack was sometime before On Any Sunday came to the sticks here in Georgia (1974?). We were watching Little Fauss and Big Halsey with Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway (??or was she only in 3 days of the condor) and they did some sidecar racing. I thought it was so cool.
Why Sidehack BMX? Sidecar motorcycle racing was big in Europe and still is. Almost everything we did in the 70s in relation to BMX was driven by what was going on in motorcycle motcross. They still get gnarly in mx with sidecars. See the Belgian MX GP 2007:

I still smile everytime I see those guys get air.
