gREAT LOOKING BIKE. lOVED THE UNDRILLED dg'S.Whoops, caps lock - Aren't those Carlisle tires marked MX 200, 300 or 400's? I have a bunch of Carlisle's and all are marked with something? I can see a hint of an MX on the front tire - it really doesn't matter but never seen an unmarked number. Might be a new tire to add to my list of unknowns. This will be first on the list that I might have to start...lol

Re: The DG Thread
Here is another that I think should be added - I THINK a member here now owns it but this was back when Tim Cook had it. KILLER bike and Bottema's actual cut gusset DG.
It was the crown jewel of Tim's collection which was EXTENSIVE and no JUNK - bikes that have never been seen yet on this site. The whole collection was rumored to have been sold about 2-3 years ago. I think some is in Florida (guess who) and some in Atlanta (guess who).

Re: The DG Thread
suicidepan...what's the serial # on your DG?
I'm curious because the dropouts, round brake bridge and solid gusset welding suggest a later model DG....
regardless...great bike!
As long as I'm here, it doesn't matter where 'here' is.

Re: The DG Thread
My DG serial number is DG 11 77 14 so it`s the 14th DG built in November of 1977 , also the small gusset lettering gives it away as in 78 DG went to the larger curved "D" thanks

I want to play too. This is my DG that I got from a good friend of mine. This is my favorite bike. DGs are freaking awesome. Going to change the wheels to black Arrayas with Philwood hubs. Keep them coming.

These bikes are before my time...or at least before i was really riding seriously. Is it me or did they build BMX frames really short in the top tube back then?

Re: The DG Thread
Here is a picture from the beginning of the year. I have sold one frame/fork to a buddy of mine but I still have everything else. Two of them are built up. Starting from the back ... 1979 26" Vulcan, 1981 24" Looptail, 1980 DG-1 Pro Racer, 1979 DG Racer and 1981 ZF-1.
