BMX RESTORATION!! - NEED HELP/INFO! SKYWAY Performance GT!

I have salvaged this bike and was considering making it into a custom bike but ive seen alot of old restored bikes that have been kept to the original styles. i was wondering does anyone know where to get new original parts, or any infomation on this sort of bike?
I will post a picture tomorrow!

You can find the answers to most of your questions here in BMX Restoration using the Search box.  Compare your bike to other Performers here on the museum and decide what you want to do with yours.  Lastly, go to the For Sale forum and browse or search for your parts.

Nice GT, BTW...

ps dont put skyway decals on, its not a skyway. only the bars, wheels and pegs are.

Re: BMX RESTORATION!! - NEED HELP/INFO! SKYWAY Performance GT!

if striping the wheel be carefull with that coster brake rebuilding them can be a nightmare. as far as cleaning up, id leave the hubs alone and use some thing like a brillo pad lightly on them finished with 1000 grade wet and dry (mostly wet). but im not an expert at cleaning them up. best to double check with other members before doing. the skyways you got are the metal hub type and are the most sought after.
