High Price + Long Wait = Happy as a 6 year old
I've been wanting one of these since I was 6 years old and now I finally have one!!!!! Went through a bunch of drama with the seller but it's mine now!!!! It was like Christmas morning after Fed Ex delivered it. Everything on the bike is original except for the handle bar pad, tires, tubes and valve caps. The original ones came with the bike but the foam pad was dry rotted and crumbling so I put on the red Cycle Pro pad and I found some new tires. I even have all of the original paper work.
FRAME: 1977 Raleigh Rampar R-5
FORKS: Original; ?; 1†threaded
STEM: Original; ?; double clamp
HANDLEBAR: Original box bars; 26.5W x 8.5H
GRIPS: Original
HEADSET: Original; 1†threaded
CRANKS: Original; 145mm
PEDALS: Victor; 1/2â€
CHAINWHEEL: Original; 46T
CHAIN: Original
RIMS: Original; Kinlin; 36H; 20x1.75
HUBS: Original; Front: Femco; Rear: NK coaster brake w/20T cog; 36H
TIRES: Cheng Shin; 20x2.125
SEAT: Original
Some people need to get down off of their crosses, use the wood to build a bridge and GET OVER IT!!!!
I don't build bikes. I just assemble them.

I think the front fender is on backwards. CLEAN Bike, congrats!

I always loved the old suspension bikes. Check out my MASA under "my bikes". It's only a rear suspension, but its' a very odd bike and I enjoyed one just like it as a kid. It's heavy as a tank tho, as I'm sure the Rampar is too. I remember being a kid and shopping for a bike and having that as one of my choices. I chose the Masa for whatever reason, but loved / love them all!

God I hated my Rampar when I was a kid. Bought it brand new and it was like pedaling a tank down the road. Felt like it was in 10th gear if it was a ten speed. Only problem was,that it wasn't... Short cranks. I could do wheelies on anything but that stupid thing.It weighed a ton.... Sure it was nice to do jumps off the wood leaning against the milk crates we set up in the street.At least landing was nice.But I would be so out of breath from pedaling to get to the jump. Was also great for riding down stairs. But again I hated that thing so much it has left a permant scar on my childhood memories. I mean how could anything that looked so cool be such a disappointment... But when you beg your dad for one and he buys it.You feel obligated to ride it. I don't know what ever happened to the old tank. I am pretty sure I have blocked what I did to it out of my memory...

Man i had one of these when i was a kid. I could wrap my newspaper bag on the bars. it was awesome, and used to pull skids like a rock star....

I had one of those when I was 10 and the thing I remember most is the weight. I lived in Vancouver and when I was coming down from the top of the hill or street I would go so fast it was scary but what a rush. When I would push my bike back up again I would promise myself "this" would be my last run. I swear it was a ligitimate dirt bike minus the engine, awesome bike though!.
No matter where you go, there you are!.

Sweet bike BITD I learned how to ride a bike on one just like this. . I can remeber my neighbor letting me borrow his while learning how to ride .
