Wagon Wheel (29er) CLUB
So what you guys have - I have a Big Ripper and the Stout , got my eyes on a Cannondale MTB 29er w/lefty fork for this year and hopefully a Quad next year , but for now enjoying the Big Ripper the past week on the trails . I cant beleive the speed once it gets rolling , especially with the 40/16 gear im running . Its a work out but the guys that im rolling with aint got nothing on the Big Ripper

I had actually bought those for my mountainbike a few years ago to keep the mud off of me... since trails are muddy here most of the time. I put them on the 29er to keep the road rain off of me and they fit perfectly. They are made by Topeak.

Yeah it's nice to be able to ride in the rain and not get soaked by road crap. Most of the time, the rain is very light so you hardly get wet... it's just the nasty road-spray that gets you... so with the fenders I can ride in the rain with a windbreaker and be OK.
The BM Flyer is my designated bad weather bike. It proved itself in the snow. You can just plow right through and over everything!

Dude I paid ALOT for mine, but it was the shipping that killed me.And I dont think they're supposed to sold online.Figure $500-550.
Mine was a phone order.
That Stout looks pretty cool, but you think you got enough spacers under the stem MADDAWG?

Re: Wagon Wheel (29er) CLUB
Dang dude 40-16?thats pretty high.I just changed my free wheel to 16 and it pretty cool.If I went on longer rides tho I could see gearing it a bit higher.
I also took out a link or 2 and slammed the rear wheel up,so its alot easier to bunny hop and get the front wheel up.
I got a good "pop" on a bunnyhop the other day and it felt like a pogostick. It like just sprung up w/o me even pulling hard.
I'm still a little gunshy w/ wheelies and bunnyhops after breaking my tailbone a coupla mos. ago on my 16".
I'm gonna try to get some pics of my BR tomorrow,so bear w/ me people!

Re: Wagon Wheel (29er) CLUB
I am lovin' my big ripper! i was kicking tail whips on it the other day...can't wait for the possible 29er quad next year!!! the stout looks great! my next build this summer will be a fireman's texas cruiser 29er...i use a 16/33 gear ratio for cruising...i use a 20/33 for hitting the trails along the milwaukee river...lots of hills and technical stretches.,.so i never have the chance to really pick up much speed anyhow, so i don't mind the low ratio...the only thing smaller bikes are better at is that first initial thrust at start-up...once you get a 29er rolling nothing can stop it! i know its retro to not have the front brake- -but i would like one on the big ripper...
...put some fun between your legs...
