Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

Pretty sure it's just called a "Cake" but still very nice.  I used to race one of these when I worked at my LBS.  It sure turned heads back then!  Nice bike man!

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

Evrything I find about a GF Cake is a MTB. I'm not saying that this isn't, just that all I can find. And everything I find that has this frame style is called a Dolph... but in Cream Pearl. So who knows?
:/

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

The Dolph was a lower model that was available as a comlete (if my memory serves me correctly).  The Cake was a special "race" frame that was only available as a frame.

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

This is basically the Trek Y-frame.  Aren't they in fact made by the same people -or is that Giant and Trek??
Cool frame -and no offense intended, but would make a great girl's bike because of the shape (not that girl's can't ride boy's bikes...)
I want one for my daughter in about 4 years when she's big enough to ride it.
This is also similar to the Specialized Fatgirl from 98.
By the Way -I want one of the above mentioned frames -aluminum -for like $40 or $50 if someone has one laying around.

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

Seansoclean just picked up one of these, but a Cruiser!  How rare is that.
I think he means to sell it in case anybodies looking.  His burgundy one will be the second one I've see -after this yellow one.

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

I've been researching these.  I believe the Cake is actually a full suspension mountain bike.
This is a Gary Fisher Dolph.  Any chance it just had the wrong decals on it?
The big one of these, 24" cruiser, had Plush Rush on it -looked OG.

This is NOT a Dolph, it's a Cake.  The cake was a bmx race frame WAY before they made it into a mountain bike.

The seat tube (or what there is of it) has a cake sticker with a few candles in it.  I'll see if I can dig up a pic or two of my old one.  They only made it one, maybe two years so they are rare indeed.

Re: 1999 Gary Fisher Cake

Hi I am from Australia and I have this bike and i believe it is a Cake model as i was told it was brought out as a Bday Edition. Not sure how true that it is but I am looking to sell mine. Is this a good site to sell it on?
