Re: 1980 Healing Industries HMX 600
i had one of these as a kid. red tuffs (went pink over time - bleh) cracked the frame at the gussett, had single gusset I think. Ended up welding a chunk of 25mm plate steel from the gussett half way down the frame! Cut from a mack truck, the frame was never going to break again - probably cause I could not get the thing off the ground weighing what it did!!
The plate had the mack logo on it which just made it that bit tougher. If you ever find this bike, please return to me.
Good resto dude!

Re: 1980 Healing Industries HMX 600
Hey ive just discovered that people are still pulling these hmx's out and doing skids and wheelies and shit and im pretty keen to join in. ive got and old hmx 500 or so it says. My brother got it brand new and appart from it getting a hiding as kids and a few original parts replaced/missing its original. Its blue, and it seems that the 600 was the blue (according to what ive seen on forums the 500 only came in yellow) but this has the 500 decals and is blue. Its got the checker print on it also. so this is about all i know of the history appart from dad always saying they dont make them like this anymore and it was one of the last of the nz healings?? Still know the guy who sold it to us so if you can help me out and maybe he can give me some info we might get to the bottom of this and then i can maybe get this thing back up and running.
Any info would be awesome. Thanks

Looks like you did a good job saving this one. Nice!
