1999 SE Racing Bronco
1999 SE Racing Bronco
SE Bronco for my college aged daughter
After getting back into BMX after a 23 year hiatus, my college aged daughter voiced her desire to ride a BMX bike as well. My good friend and fellow Museum member (Gunluva) had a bunch of bike frames and parts and we made a deal for him to put something together for her. I loved the way it turned out and only made some minimal changes from the way he gave it to us. The red rims he mated with the 32 spoke low flange sealed bearing GT hubs match the frame color perfectly! I replaced the bars with some newer school Hi-ten Haro Knee saver bars and a Haro Fusion stem that is slightly polished. I also replaced the seat post with the chrome lay back, added some pegs for the rear and replaced the grips with black SE wing grips with the red SE bar ends. Additionally, I replaced the no frills V brakes with some red Tektros with the black & red lever and added a black Bulldog brake on the front end. Lastly, after she complained about the "hard" old school plastic seat, I replaced that with a padded leather seat from my Specialized Works mountain bike. All in all, I think it looks pretty hot and she is quite happy with it.

It's pronounced Keen-YO-nez, but I'm fine with Q!
