I just purchased one, and was wondering if yours has a serial number? Mine doesn't.

Re: 1980 SE Racing Mini-Ripper

I thought that the mini came before 1980. PK Rippers started in 79 and I believe the Ripper was 78, 79

Nope. Ripper was a smaller bike than the PK.

Basically, in 78, both mini and full size alloy frames came out, and then they evolved from there.

PK evolved from the 78 JU-6, but, got the added head tube gusset in 79 and the PK rename as JU left SE.
Mini Ripper started in 78 as a BD-III. In 79, it was rebadged DB-IV, and then in 1980 again as just "Ripper". By 84 I think it took on the full Mini-Ripper name. From 78-84, there was no change in the frame at all, just renaming.
