Re: How old were you?

On closer inspection it doesn't really look like a Thruster or a G-Boy - didn't the G Boy have the machine gun holes in the gusset? and no extra crossbar on the frame?

The Morning I rode my Performer home from the LBS - My bro got this blue bike which was called a Landis - anyone ever see one of these before? Oh and the Zeronine gloves came with the purchase (for rad freestylers who bought GT's and Haros lol!)

I never really knew.  I got it from an older neighbor who's family was heavy in the moto/dirtbike scene here in Oakland.  I'm sure it was Champion-inspired.  Whether it was built by anyone who knew Doug Schwerma or not, I have no idea.  I don't think it had ever had stickers at all, so I think it was an underground job of some kind.  It rode great and was nice & stiff and not too heavy for its time.  I bought it in about 78 and my neighbor had already had it probably 4-5 years.

It came with the Redline forks and Femcos.  I used it to deliver papers and upgrade one piece at a time.  When this photo was taken, it looks like I'd just installed a new back tire, and I'd already put on the Mongoose double clamp and FMF bars as well as the rear Tuff.

Now I gotta go to my dad's and find some really old photos of me on my Scrambler. lol

Tree Stumps! Awesome! - In our neighbor hood we had a road with sidewalk that went for miles and apparently a bunch of mature trees died and had to be cut down and we would leave the sidewalk and blast off the best stumps - man that was fun! - Some of them would really kick your back end up on you though and give you a scare! good times! smile

Re: How old were you?

Little neighbor kids down the road asked me to try out their jump they built... I dusted off the 86  Haro Sport and had some fun...circa 1991 Little kids cannot watch you jump and take pictures with you in the frame though... this was one of a few that they actually got me in there lol... funny those "little neighbor kids" are all like 26 - 27 now.

My first bike was a shock bike from Western Auto.Yellow fenders and tank, black frame. This was summer,'74.I was 7 years old.If you hit a jump and compressed the shocks, you could launch that tank like a rocket!I went through a Huffy "MX" and a Murray banana bike after that, both were total crap, but I miss my shock bike.It was fun.
