1982 Diamond Back Harry Leary Turbo
1982 Diamond Back Harry Leary Turbo
The Leary mobile...
The first of my pair of Turbo's to be finished to this spec.
All parts were hunted down over a period of 4yrs and include Nos, mint, and immaculately restored items.
Even down to the nos chrome double butted spokes and nos original chrome D.i.d 3/32 chain.
The Comp III's and Suntour Xc II's are not original spec but were what i had on my original Turbo back in '83.

Thanks lads.
I am well happy with her. This whole build has been long, but i've enjoyed it from start to finish.
So much so I'm about 75% of the way to having my second Turbo complete to the same spec...
Nothing takes me back to my youth as much as taking her out for a wobble

Thanx Shivadread...
Turbo seat posts do come up every now 'n' then. I managed to source a couple over the past 4 yrs.
I'll keep an eye out, and give you a shout if i stumble over one again m8.
I've added a couple of extra pics, but will update them once the weather sorts itself here and I can get her outside for a photo session.

Sweet bike....I have an 82 turbo as well...just got it from my parent house....fairly decent condition.....I don't have the original peddles or wheels....it has shimano dx peddels and tuff wheel II's....I am going to continue to look for the rest of the original parts...I know I put them somewhere....

Thanks for the compliments
She still has pride of place in my collection, and where I've carried on hunting down elusive nos parts for her I've managed to replace a few of the restored (although immaculate) components.
My other Turbo has benefited from this and now basically looks identical to this one.
Even better tho... It's my rider
I'll update the thread for my rider Turbo soon, and get a few pic's up of them side by side... TWIN TURBO'S
