1987 GT Performer

1987 GT Performer

So when I was 7 years old I would follow my older brother and his friends everywhere, trying to be cool and do everything they did. One day we went to the local bike shop and there in the rack was a brand new Dayglow Pink 1987 GT Performer. I thought it was the coolest bike I had ever seen. So trying fit in and be cool I told all of his friends that I was getting this bike for my birthday and they were all jealous and I thought I was so cool. Did I mention I lied a lot when I was kid, no way in hell my parents were going buy me this bike. Needless to say I never got the bike but still I always wanted it, fast forward 30 years and I saw this posted for sale and snatched it up.  So it has a ways to go but it'll get there...

Re: 1987 GT Performer

What's the plan? Survivor/rat rod build? Full resto? I bought an '87 PFT in DGP a while back that was pretty far gone, intending to get it redone but  just couldn't bring myself to Ditch the og finish. Ended up building it as a survivor
and  buying another that was already stripped to send out for powder. Have fun with the project!

I don't bother chasing mice around.

It’s nice, the paint really tells the story.

I am not sure which direction I'm going with it yet, I'm just slowly trying to piece it together.
