That bike is sweet. I mean really sweet.

Can you tell me what the difference is between the Pro Performer and the PFT of the same year?

The difference between the two are the components that came on the two bikes. They both used the same frame and fork, but some of the parts were different. For example, the Pro Performer didn't come with frame and fork standers. It also didn't have a two-pc sprocket. It came with the one-piece like the Performer. I believe the front brake caliper and brake levers were also different.

yup, front brake and levers were different..and pro performers came with mags where as the PFT's you could get mags OR the superlace wheels

where is Joe getting his powdered? and what year decals is he going to use? day glow orange with the 88 dyno decals would be awesome

I can't wait to see the pix of the two together...When I first saw the dayglo orange PFT in person, I could've sworn it was plugged-up in a socket somewhere. That thing is super-bright!cool

I kinda' figured that...lol...but in my opinion, I'd go with the '88's. How far along are you with the build?

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

I noticed this picture on the back of the '87 GT Catalog. I guess they did make at least one in this color for a Pro Rider. Who's could that have been for??? Or is this actually an '86 GT since they used some old pics in the catalogs.

I'd guess its an 86, but too hard to tell in that pic, either way your bike is sweet!  Can't wait to get ours back from the powder coater next week!
