24 for the wife

Picked up and posted a few weeks back this unknown 24 I got for $80 locally.

Going to swap in some parts I have on hand. Its got a decent automotive grade metallic blue paint finish with minimal scratches so I'll keep it as is. Few well placed decals will take care of most of that.

1st time my wife rode a bmx bike so this bike might be the ticket to keep her interest.

Bike is 14mm front / rear. Have these Specialized hubs I'll use. Rims that are on bike are double wall and outside bit of brake pad rub, no damage.

Re: 24 for the wife

Nice find,   hope your wife likes it and gets into riding.

I really like 24's, I cant quite figure out what this one is.
Specialized P24, forks kick out more at the drops and the seat stays come past the seat tube.
DK cygnus 2014-2015 maybe,  after that the seat stays extend past seat tube,  before that had a head tube gusset. Forks are still not the same.
Haro ZX24 has a smaller rear drop out and seat stays come past seat tube
Mongoose thrive is close, but not a match at seat stay to seat tube.
Sunday 24's have integrated headtube.
Haro 124, maybe,  forks are different.

Re: 24 for the wife

I see you pulled the rear pegs off, good call. First time the wife gets a peg to the back of the calf....yikes

Actually that's my next move today. Pics without pegs are pics of the hubs I'm going to use (different bike)

I was looking at the drops on the pics woth blue hubs,  no wonder it wasnt matching up with any 24's.

Re: 24 for the wife

Good Stuff.
I built a 24" for my wife.  It's good to get the family out for a neighborhood roll.

That bike reminds me of the Mirraco 20Fortys that I used to build when I worked at my local shop in the 2010ish days.  The drivetrain and cockpit look familiar, and the crossover straddle cable thing was definitely something the Mirraco Bikes had back then.

I was thinking Mirraco as well but I could not see a good photo in museum to compare.

Checked a few out and mine doesn't have a gusset at the headtube / Toptube junction.
