Panda cruiser build oponions

Picked up this 26 awhile back, with the impressions that i was going to remove the added brake posts then refinish the set for a build. But, as time passes, i am thinking build it as is. Maybe the brake upgrades will end up being awesome.
Also had planned on a white frame with red parts, but now thinking chrome and gold. Your opinions matter so plz feel free to chime in on what and why. Thanks

With a couple other builds started and in various stages, plus a New 68 Ranchero that needs my attention, guessing Nothing will get done on any of it. Lol

Re: Panda cruiser build oponions

Let’s see the Ranchero!

I’m not a fan of the brake modifications or gold bits. And there isn’t anything worse than yellow tires.

Having said that, I like original. Can you build it with red parts and leave it chrome? Then decide if it needs to be refinished. Build it and ride it, then decide what to do based on how it rides.

Now where’s the Ranchero?

The plan was to get rid of the brake mounts. But ordered some beakes and going to run it with Vbrakes for the sumner, see how i like it. Winter is a good time for cleaning it up. If decide to remove them. Guessing once it is together and riding. Just keep it with the v brakes

Going to give it a mild gasser look with focus on drivability. Big block front coils and a 1" spacer. And some tall tires in back to offset the front a bit. And, getting old. Lol. as factory AC is a plus these days.

I'm digging the gold parts and the yellow tires. Glad your giving the canti brakes a chance , you can always change later..
Hope you enjoy riding it this summer!

Mat, I think the yellow tires are overkill.  It’s your bike, and I know it’s gonna be awesome, but I think chrome, gold, AND red can exist in perfect harmony...

yes get rid of those brake mounts, the bike is old school, not new school. shame who did that to that frame.
