1978 Mongoose Motomag

1978 mongoose first build

The original parts are frame, femco rims with shimano mx hub up front and a bendix coaster in the back, unstamped seat clamp and original grips with bar plugs. the stuff I added was race inc bars with a rampar stem, 79 undrilled tange 1200 forks, and fluted seat post with a san marco suede seat. A good buddy of mine ( Radline08) hooked me up with some Vx cranks that pollished up sweet. I think not counting time I've got 50-60 bucks tied up rightr now. Looking for tange 1200 stikers

I saw the score you had on this Goose. Are those bikes in the pics the same bike?

Re: 1978 Mongoose Motomag

Yeah there the same bike just a lot of polishing with a Dremmel tool and some silver polish for the nickel. If you see it up close you can see the flaws.  But hey flaws on a 30 year old rusty bike big whoop. I wish I could clean up this well for so little cash. I'm way happy. Mothers wheel polish saves the day. Now the big problem is hiding the pedals from my kid, because he has been eyeballing daddy’s toy. I know he wants to ride it to school but in the last 2 months I’ve seen 2 guys on Craig’s list listing for bikes stolen form there sons school. One was an 82 GT. I still feel for that guy.
later and thanks for the Props,  Hondo
