1980 Fuji MX-500

Slightly modded survivor

I picked this awesome Fuji up in a parts trade. It is completely original besides the tyres which look to have been replaced in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The bike was an anodised blue colour from top to bottom however most of it has flaked off. It can still be seen on the bars, around the gusset area and in a few spots around the drop outs and forks. This one will be an easy little project, not sure how far I want to go with it. I kinda like it how it is but a full restore is always tempting.
UPDATE; Now fully restored with tasteful period correct upgrades. Photos added!

I Have just picked up a frame of this type and year. Do you know how to identify the frame number? I have done a few searches with no luck.

What did you need to know? The year and month is stamped on the rear drive side dropout. Should be in the following format; FBM 80-6
