Re: Haros , who likes them?

I have always liked haros since I was a kid in the 90's, been working on making the ones I have better looking here lately swapping bars, stems and seats for more correct parts. Have 3 -20" and 3 -24" in the stable for now.

I like them but i’m selective about which ones I own. The Lineage frames from the last several years are very nice.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

Well, I'm building a new school, non Lineage, Haro and I'm stoked to see how its stacks up to the lineage. I haven't had a New school haro since an 07 Forum Pro.
I went over to Premium Products for about a decade.
The two lineage Sports I had/have was/is really nice. The 2017 Sport being the my ATF and the current 2020, 1A.
They have a solid but light feel and just are a blast to ride.
The new one thus far construction looks good, the chrome is just awesome. kind of generic double triangle featuring that tight, wide backside (like a woman)

Yeah buddy. Watching from the bunker for the wheels. They say they'll be here today. This may get built today, although I don't have a chain or brake cable.
My last brakeless experience when I got the Sport nearly resulted in high speed disaster.

If I saw right, you picked up a chrome Midway frame, correct?
I had a midway for a little while. I got a deal on it locally to ride with my kids. I Swapped some parts around for aesthetics. But ended up selling it in Christmas Eve to someone who needed it as a present for their kid.
But in the time I had it, I really liked it! 21tt. Nice geo. Felt light and responsive. That said I have no experience with a lineage or any other high end / pro model bikes. (At least not in the last 20+ years). I ended up selling it for a nice profit which went towards some FIT’s.
Anyway, I think you’ll like it. I did.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

Back in December I picked-up a 2021 Midway Freecoaster for my son. It is a really nice complete, and the FC hub is sweet.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I figured the Midway was close to the Sport/Master in geometry minus the platforms, bash and super gusset. It was just the case of a motivated seller and an impulsive buyer.
I couldn't swing the Lineage Ground Master and the Airmaster, so when I saw this frame and then the seller dropped the price $30, I was powerless to resist.
This bike is going to be a sledgehammer.

87-92 and 2015 and up are my favorites.  If a Haro makes it into my driveway...it never leaves.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

They're ok. Decent bikes that in the past had the best riders on.

Don't really see them as very high end tho. Usually skimp on parts etc like most other completes.

Still got one and will keep it because it's a Mirra but yeah won't get any more.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

I have 2 '99 Supras (one a rider, other one a frame), a 2k Backtrail Nyquist X2, a 2004 Backtrail X1 and X2. My girls each have a girls Shredder. I would say I'm a bit of a fan.

My only Haro that i bought of my buddy last year. I could ever afford one as a kid but always liked them. Tons of new parts coming at end of this week including, grips, stem, seat, seat clamp, cranks, brake levers and some small custom stuff.

Re: Haros , who likes them?

I like Haro, I remember when they used to go for a fortune before the retros. I wonder what happened to all the NOS 85 Green Master frame sets???

My favorite Haro build, wonder who owns this frame now?

Re: Haros , who likes them?

Well......i mean.....i SUPPOSE i like Haros (look at my bikes section lol)

Unfortunately they are all gone. sad  But currently rebuilding the 2018 yull flat Master.

I always loved em back in the day. I was 98% a flatland rider and 120 pounds so i didnt have too many issues with them. I know they had weak spots/issues, but to me that was just the sport evolving and the brand learning from the riders what they need to improve. By the time the ground masters were out they fixed the seatube plate. i believe the 90 had better fork dropouts. those were the only common/major issues i saw riding flat with Haros. I know a lot werent fans of the drop out platforms but they eventually did away with those as well. The ground master was probably the best old school iteration of the Master. Ive seen people break GTs at the chain/seat stays so i think all the bikes back then had their limitations. I just took it as "thats how it is" back then.

the new retros are nice, the 2018 yull pretty much won me over to ride it as a true modern flatland bike.
