Only year for a straight bar Typhoon

The frame was a $35 Craigslist score.  I had it powdered candy red and added the BMX goodies.

That's rare and awesome!! The red powder is amazing and I think the bars are perfect for the bike. Well done.

I can't believe the way people mistreat bikes. It also amazes me how many people don't have any bikes and never ride them - poor miserable souls.

Re: 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 26

Thanks for the kind words.  It's by far the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.  I can cruise all day long on this one.

That is so cool. I have a 59 tornado with same twin straight bar. I’m so torn on whether to BMX it or leave it as is. Looking at your bike is swaying me towards BMX’n it. Great build.

Since mine was a frame only when purchased, I went the BMX route since I had no original parts anyway.  I chose to leave the chainguard tabs and kickstand mount so it could be returned to stock someday.

Good idea to leave the tabs and kickstand. I have a few worksman bikes and I could never get myself to grind the tabs off.
