1988/89 Oddball

I purchased this frame years ago as an 89. I pieced it together over time and recently noticed that it is 88 stamped. It’s odd since there is a cable guide on the bottom side of the top tube like 89s have. What is really odd is that there is a hanger for a cable adjuster on the BB like an 88. I’m a little confused since I haven’t seen another. Anyone have one like this? Anyway, it’s precisely how I wanted to finish this project and love the look of the tribal decals. I have a picture of the bike Pre-tomahawk with some Tuffs. I think it still looked great but wasn’t content not having the factory look.

Re: 1989 GT Performer

Sweet bike.  I like that you have options with the rear brake.  I would've gone with the centerpull, myself, but you can always do that if you just get bored.  They say not to do it too much though, or you'll go blind.

Extremely tight build.  One of the entry-level bikes on the showroom floor that you walked up to as a kid and squeezed the brakes and it just made you wanna Ride.

I mean, Extremely Clean with detail building skills All_Around.  Awesomeness.
