A GT PFT Build - Modified

I picked up this 91 GT Pro Freestyle Tour frame set a month or two back.  I wanted to make a rider out of it with some modern touches.  At the same time, I am trying to be subtle with the modifications.  This frame was manufactured in July 0f 1990, sold as a 91, I had it powdered by Chip @ C4 Labs in GT "Electric Red" which was a 92 color, and finished it off with 90.5 decals.  It's a bit of a mash up, but I'm cool with that tongue

It was spray painted flat black with blue splatter when I purchased it.

I sent it to Chip for the "Electric Red" Day Glow powder.

Re: A GT PFT Build - Modified

Chatty Matty provided one of his custom machined Tange sealed headsets so I could run a modern fork (Odyssey R25).
I topped it off with a new G3 GYRO and new GT Mallet stem.

13 tooth free coaster.

you will pedal but go no wear. it will just spin. try a 20 tooth that's what my peregrine freecoaster had the front sprocket was the new reissue GT buzz saw 36 tooth on a Gt performer frame.

20 would be way worse for going no where.  38/13 is common gearing back in early 2000's.  36/13 will be fine.

don't think so I tried it you cant jaywalk a intersection with 36 13. that's dame near trials gearing.

Re: A GT PFT Build - Modified

Got my Pitbull all cleaned up and installed.  I really wish GT had continued to use rear 990 mounts for the early 90's frames.

I agree, I saw someone put a spring in between the cable stop and the triangle once helped them to spring back better especially with a gyro
