Looks more like a center-pull / cantilever brake?

Re: 1996 Schauff Flatland
At that time, we had a lot of people over here in germany trying to make a cantilever brake work with the potts mod. They welded mounts onto the fork´s leg and used that little wheel in the middle to lead the wire. The wheel is just connected to the steertube where you normally put the axle of the caliper brake in. With this modification a cantilever works like v brake. It´s only pulled from one side.

Re: 1996 Schauff Flatland
looks like an upgraded schwinn aerostar -- which i tried to make into a flatland bike once
all i can use is.... S&M DTF 21.25 frame ; 28t Fit 24mm spline drive sprocket [without insert is fine]; a 2013 WTP atlas or cheap cro-mo 24" race bike ; 14" wheel scooter; 21.25"+ tt USA-made frames; some sort of dj of trials bike that i can bust the city on. oh ... and just a Homeless Mack Stoopid long

Re: 1996 Schauff Flatland
It does look like a later-model Aerostar.
Dunno why Canti's were even attempted on front. V-brakes works so much better.
It's like the man says, there's no problems...only solutions.
