At 300 units they could charge $2K and get it!
Which sucks cause the average hobbiest is gonna get left out. I’m super curious on what the price point will be and if they are going to be like a Haro Lineage type package or like their Vintage series

This is ultimately a project to honor and celebrate Linn Kastan and his crucial role in BMX, and Redline history. The project has a lot of moving parts including a historical "origins" video (with plenty of ex-Redline racers, employees, etc contributing) a website, etc. When we met with Linn 6 months ago to discuss this project, the subject of the RL 20 II came up and since Linn has the ability to produce bikes to very high standards at Kastan, he offered to make a short run of RL 20 II Replica packages. Using the original drawings he created in 1984, these will be incredible tributes for those who collect vintage-inspired-replica BMX bikes, and the project will be a fitting tribute to Linn Kastan and his unique and innovative role in BMX history. Without him, who knows what it would look like.
The balance of creating something that requires a lot of tooling while keeping it accessible/affordable has been a six-month process. This isn't a price gouge or a bank raid, merely an authentic project, delivered by the brand founder - in collaboration with the modern brand - to celebrate Redline and Linn Kastan's history.
Thanks to those who support the effort.
Nice to see this project is in good hands. I trust you will do it right.

If it was greed ... why only 300?
You can charge more for 'limited editions' plus the profit will be higher cos their using 40 year old tech, that is usually still found on wallmart bikes. And it will create more interest in their next 20 'limited edition' repops.

When the complaint is that the company is making money, what is the ideal thing they should do? Should they give them away? Sell them at their cost & not make profit? Should they just cease to be a company so that they're not making a profit anymore?
And exactly how much extra are they going to make because they're "using 40 year old tech" as you mention?? I'm curious.

The Haro Master and Sport sets were only a grand and they had less of a run.

So take the bars and cranks and toss the rest? The OS bars are worth a small fortune, toss in some "NOS " Flight cranks... What are these going for?
I'm not normally one to comment on these threads, but I am moving to the side of "another one?" Like this was done by those guys and they made money, maybe we can do it too.

How am I supposed to know 'exactly' how much extra profit they will make? It's a limited edition, so the sky is the limit. I'm just a little dissapointed that another BMX company is making bikes that probably won't be ridden, and will turn up on facebook and ebay in the comming years at ridiculous prices.
They could have collaborated with Linn Kastan and made something new, but instead chose to make the easy monies with a remake. It's great for the company, but not so much the sport imo.
