1987 Kuwahara 24

Looks like a Kuwahara Kz-1 but larger. (Marketed by Prosight)

Made by Hattori Co (Japan), I believe this is another one of these fabulous Tange machines. Equipped with SR stem, SR hubs, Araya Rims 24"x 1.75 (since changed to Skyway Tuffs) Tioga Comp3 gumwalls, Tange chromoly fluted pole & Tange seat clamp, Kashimax aero seat and Takagi cranks. This bike is a pleasure to ride.

Have to say though, I prefer the Arayas over the skyways.

Hi Sabel, u r right, I just wanted to try these out and see how they r, they aren't too bad, but to keep that Old Skool feel, I do have to agree with u. How's ur bike collection coming along, any new project we should know about? wink

Re: 1987 Kuwahara 24

Hi valuevintage,

I haven't seen another one only a frame that was on ebay recently. I bought mine complete, but it does need a proper repaint to make it immaculate, @ this point in time I am just happy to use it as a daily ride. A nice 24 for me. Thanxs for ur comment. wink

Re: 1987 Kuwahara 24

Read your explaination on your bike and wanted to offer this website which explains the 2 Kuwahara 24s made from 1982-1984.  Both Tange and yours being according to this info, version 2 with a gussett.  Only example I see in the Museum, so apparently a rare version, wonderful bike.

Ps-Kuwahara also made Apollo, cheaper bike, not a chromoly frame.

Re: 1987 Kuwahara 24

Sorry just noticed yours was a 1987, so don't think my previous comment applies...
