1982 Norco Starfire

My forever Norco

This was my childhood bike. From Patrick Bros Sports St Catharines ON. Sat on the shelf for years. I finally got it when I was 11 or 12. Took years to find all the little details. I have a whole Norco kit to go with it including race Jersey and pants, norco uni seat, various red grips and seats. I had to source the post and bars but this bike came factory loaded!

Tange DG 1 fluted post, Norco Shotgun II, Norco seat post clamp, Araya rims, Suzue Hubs, Maxy Cross with Norco dust caps, Norco Pro Bars, 2/3 Norco Padset,Norco plate, Shimano DX, Shimano levers, Norco Grab On MX copies, Diacompe front brake, Suntour headset lock, Norco rear tire, Comp III Front tire, Izumi chain, Sugino chain wheel and bolts

Re: 1982 Norco Starfire

Not just any Norco, it's the Norco Starfire. It did not get any better than this Canadian (mostly Japanese) beauty cool

Can you please confirm the serial number indicates that it's an '82 made frame (as there are no others of the same year)?

Awesome coolcool

Beautiful bike, I can't seem to find a Starfire around here. I'm trying to get the entire '80s Norco BMX lineup.

That would place your bike's manufacturing date in June of '82. This makes it the earliest sample on here cool

What about the cranks, are they original?

Re: 1982 Norco Starfire

It had the red maxy cranks on there. I have replaced the non drive side with a similarly faded red one. I retained the original.
