2000 S&M DIRTBIKE Classic

2000 S&M DIRTBIKE Classic

Pretty sure this is a 2000-model-year Dirt Bike "Classic." These models were built to be lighter (and more like the original Dirt Bikes) than the previous "Dirt Bike Next Generation" models.

Built this up around the year 2000/2001 or so.
A buddy had been riding the same frame, and after three years of riding a King Bike Co. Liberty (which was heavy as heck) I thought this frame felt pretty nimble and light, a lot more similar to the First-gen Homeless Mack I had ridden before.
20" top tube, but always wished it was a 20.5" or 21".
S&M ForksS&M "Enduro" StemOriginally built up with S&M Castillo bars, more recently swapped the Haro Kneesavers in their place.Profile CranksPeregrine 48'sOdyssey / Primo / Dia-compe parts round out the rest of the part spec.
Always been a pretty fun bike....but somehow not as memorable as some of the other rides I've had.

It all began with a White 1985 GT Mach One....

Re: 2000 S&M DIRTBIKE Classic

I have the Next Gen Dirt Bike from '97 and it weighs like 35 pounds with all the components from that era.  I don't know how I used to ride it so well.  I wanted one like this here, it's a beaut and what all the older kids had (95' era models) who I looked up to for riding.

Tabes for the babes.  My team manager is a drunk.
