Yep... cut the stock cable guides off and put double ones in different spots for the perfect London mod routing. The end stops will seat the cable ends,  or they're also threaded for the thicker odyssey barrel adjusters.   The gyro tabs are also threaded for those thicker barrel adjusters. Better than factory!

Going for a retro-mid new school build.....
I think these are more likely to end up on it than gt profiles.

Waited forever for these to come available in black,  so I didn't have to paint a polished one.....

GT left the 2 of the f'n bolts loose in the bag for the clamp side,  and marred the coin! yikes

(It's fixed now though)

Part from cookbrosfan.... who generously offered to exchange the stem out with a new one. I decided to fix it myself though.

Was a no brainer part selection,  I wanted one of these since seeing peps retro show so many years ago!

Used FSA "the pig" headset I got from member Polonco in a lot of parts.....

I thought about going cartridge bearing but the pig on my other bike has served me very well for over a decade,  so I'm gonna go ahead and use this piece on the bike.  I gotta find a gyro gtx yet to go on this build.

I decided I definitely need pedals to complete this build, as I do intend to ride it.   I put some of these grandstands on my other bike (in clear).... love them so much that they were a no brainer for this build also.   I'm over alloy pedals, and I like the sleeve bearings in these.  They sure don't spin like sealed bearings,  which they don't need to in pedals..... they stay put where you left them when your foot leaves the pedal. I love the double concave and overall feel to them. The slim profile and good price point all work for me!

Re: Blasted!

Sweet build coming along! Love the Tao-styled dual cable mounts.

"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything"

Mid school started the day Mat Hoffman asked "Can someone build me a frame that won't break after a week?" and it ended when you guys started saying, "That's my brothers old bike, it's too heavy and makes my arms hurt."

Thanks!
I wish I could've done the same thing to my other bike, but it's chrome.... I didn't know the tao had them set up like that,  i just mocked the cables and put them how i liked the cable bend.   Gyro cables always end up being a headache at some point,  definitely a believer in dual rear cables.....

Above and below the gyro,  for that matter.....

My 200lb ass needs a little cushion.
These GT-15 viscount seats are getting harder to find in very good shape anymore.  I didn't have one,  but managed to find a decent deal on one here from member di2cco.

I believe it's actually the correct seat for the 99 slammer and maybe the 2000 also?  I wasn't going for "correct", this is the seat I wanted anyway. cool

87 stickers arrived today,  thanks to member christianhethemurray.

Not absolutely sure they're what I'm going to use, but quite possibly.

I was supposed to have some custom stickers by another member on here,  but I kept getting excuses or messages simply ignored. roll

Just some old chrome odyssey hazard lite rims.
Laced to a 4 bearing hazard front hub,  and a hazard cassette rear.  Black spokes and hubs were called for on this project.

The rear came from Ebay with the female axle and 12-16t cogs.  The front wheel acquired from member jasonwisher1987 who was cool enough to hook me up with an extra matching wheel he had hanging around. cool

These are 48s, btw.  Maybe change to some of the new gt 36 high flange someday,  but for now..... I'm gonna just go ahead and rock these 48s.

Re: Blasted!

I forgot to mention...
I made the Allen/hex head bolts and converted the front 14mm wheel to 3/8 female axle myself. Had been wanting to try that setup out and have a nice matching set o wheels. Plus was too cheap to spend 10 bucks on a set of bolts I could just go thru the trouble of making. lol
