SR pedal bearing size

I have these pedals, not in super shape.
Missing end caps and bearings.
I think these may be a good candidate as my first pedal tear down and rebuild.
Does anyone know the bearing size for these spindles?
They are 9/16 MP-464
Thanks for any help.https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/23875/15817967263653579582128333243465e484d90e1.jpg

Re: SR pedal bearing size

Would they be the same as 474s?
Looks like 1/8" from another thread fit those.

Buy yourself a bearing gauge. They`re cheap and come in handy.

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Both were last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA around 1984. $600 reward if found!!

Re: SR pedal bearing size

Ok, they seem to be slightly smaller than the 1/8" bearing size.
Not much though.
Guess I will order some and see how it goes.
Nice little tool to have.

Re: SR pedal bearing size

My local hardware store sells ball bearings. You could try and bring the pedal in to test the bowl .

Re: SR pedal bearing size

SP-474 made by SR use 1/8” ball bearings, 13 per side or 52 total per pedal (although I’ve seen some with 14 balls). I would assume the MP-464 would use the same. 1/8” is 0.125”. If you measure them with a micrometer you could know for sure. Even a caliper would do the job. If you think they are 100% smaller than 1/8”, then they are most likely 3mm. See below for a vendor.

Re: SR pedal bearing size

I would be highly confident that it is a 3mm bearing, not a 1/8" bearing.  Ever so slight difference....

I'm travelling this week....anything purchased will be shipped on 5/23/20.

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

I agree I think they are 3mm.
About 0.007” or approx 7 strands of hair. Too close to call with the naked eye.

Re: SR pedal bearing size

They were slightly smaller than the gauge.
I could feel movement back and forth with the bearing.
Not much, but it was there.
I ordered some 3mm bearings.

Thanks for all the help!!
