because this one takes a old school head seat and brakes the others did not. so their not real roll  lol so they claim.

Same here.I much rather have my retro 20" versus this new one. Also the new company making the Tuffs are complete utter crap quality.

Love your bikes btw!

Thanks, if I wanted a real Skyway, I'd hunt one up, but these days (and since I already have most of what I want and owned a TA back in the day, these days I want the old school look , but with the modern technology so I can ride with my friends and at the track. And in my opinion, the Aussie version is just a nicer parts specked STRANGER THINGS bike. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … a75855.jpg

yup that sums it up

It's not a bad deal actually. I've got between 1200-1500 into my 2013 ta. Probably more after changing parts around.

Maybe read post 9 in its entirety. Way I read it is they are a collaboration involving Ken Costers.

Luxbmx in Australia and oldschoolbmx.com.au in Australia.

Oh and I’m still confused as to why you all think they are bagging the earlier TA. I have read zero about that. I think you are interpreting it the wrong way.

I didn't think it was a bad deal either. If anyone is building bikes cheaper with all new parts (including some name brand parts), I'd like to know how they are doing it.

I like how they subtley bash the previous reissues authenticity and then have 21.5" toptube and a 25.4mm seat post.  The previous batches of frames (20, 24, & 26") were all made with Ken Coster in the loop as well.  And I have it on pretty good authority that steps have been in motion to get another batch of all three sizes with the Canti mounts, Euro B/B etc., etc.

Exactly!!!

Don't know why they are bashing the previous TA's either, maybe perhaps to hype up this one,but who knows.Pretty lame how they make it seem this new one is created purely out of passion and for non profit, versus the previous models are the complete opposite and done for the sake of greed.

Not bashing but a serious question. What did it cost you to build those 2 rides in US Dollars?

That's actually less than I have in building my XL24, you want price point buy SE anything. How can so many people be "Yeah but it's made in China" but still expect a $300 complete?

Re: Skyway TA is back

Nice looking bike but yet another ‘numbered’ retro product to try to get people in a frenzy about getting a low meaningless number.

Remember those Profile reissue box cranks from around 10 years ago?  Yeah, with all the hype and the “get them while you can because we are only making a limited number of sets and they’ll each be numbered!”  And after people (myself included) paid the premium price and bought them up figuring that was our only chance to get these famed cranks, a year later Profile began producing them again as regular production products.  So much for “very limited production”.

That’s the kind of thing that makes me wince now every time I see retro stuff that is numbered.

i think that whole "real deal" was said because of some idiot of facebook who kept  saying it's a scam over and over and over again on Facebook on every single post they put out there about this.

From post #9, the comment regarding 'the project is driven by passion' infers the previous releases were not if I understand correctly.
