Take your reflectors off, kickstand, front brake and align your bars with the forks and it would be a decent beginner bike

Yes....they are definitely heavy.  My sons first 20" bike and he loves it.  The lights are a lot of fun. 2 years now and he still rides it but I think his 10th birthday this summer will change that. cool
