Keith88, I hate the stem. The color is horrible.

You should be able to trade for a different colour with someone here I'm sure.

Re: Not my Hutch score.

You should be able to buy all the repop parts you need if that stem sells for $1,200

As long as I'm here, it doesn't matter where 'here' is.

Re: Not my Hutch score.

Man, the only thing i would want to do is swap the front wheel for a survivor that matched the rear, swap the front brake lever for a survivor that matches the rear lever, add brake calipers, and maybe a set of new grips and tires (i dont ride old rubber anymore if i can help it).  Other than cleaning, greasing, dissolving the rust, and the previous few parts i would leav it alone as much as a survivor as possible.  But its your bike now, enjoy it.

It’s ugly. I never would have bought it. This is all about building the bike I always wanted as a kid. My parents wouldn’t buy me whatever I wanted and now I have the opportunity to fulfill that. Always wanted Profile cranks. Those are next.

My plan is to replace the mismatched wheels with brand new chrome TNT first gens, new Comp3s, new repopped Hutch cranks and repoped bear traps, new repoped Mx 1000, some fresh grips, lose all the pink and that’s it"

yup swap the rubber tires for ones you can ride on. (but hang on to the old ones) then ride and enjoy it as is.

Re: Not my Hutch score.

I don't get it. And before anyone says so, I know. It's not for me to get or understand. It's his bike and all that blah blah blah. Understood. But why make a show out of it for us? To possibly piss of a purist? Why not just sell the bike as an original complete and build the bike you always wanted with the money from the sale? Always wanted a pink hutch with repop parts? Ok. Coulda done that without ever sacrificing the originality of this particular bike. Just saying. And go ahead. Flog me for my input here. Just seems redundant on many levels.

It’ll be OK guys. No need to jump off bridges quite yet.  I’m having thicker drop outs welded on so my kids can do cool bunny hops without damaging the frame. And fork gussets.
Have a great day.

Re: Not my Hutch score.

Check out the '86 Hutch Judge that Metzone put together using a frame that is probably rougher than this one. He used rough looking but sound parts on it.
