1995 Mongoose Expert Pro

Mongoose Expert Pro that I built as a Retro to match my 1984 Mongoose Supergoose III and 1984 Eric Rupe Signature Edition.

I've already had a lot of "modern" BMX, but as I'm 50 years old, I prefer the feel of Old School BMX. The OS BMX that I ride the most have 19.5 or 19.75 TT. So I wanted a frame that has not a too long TT. This 95 Mongoose Expert Pro has a 20 inch TT, so it makes no difference with my OS bikes. It almost has the same dimensions that my two 84 Rupe with 19.5 TT and 84 Schauff Anaconda Tange made with his 19.75 TT. Albeit it's considered as a Mid School frame, it has the canti mounts where I put V-brakes, I adapted the headset to fit a 1 1/8 SE Landing Gear USA 1996 made, so I have an almost New School BMX. This bike has genuine Old School parts, Mid School parts and New School and Retro New School parts.

Looks cool these frames are awesome, I have a 24” and I love the 21.5 TT!! I’ve never heard anyone say they prefer a shorter TT.

Re: 1995 Mongoose Expert Pro

Hello ! Thanks. Yes, I know, I'm a little bit special. I'm a little more than 6 foot, but I prefer not too long TT. I rode a lot of New School BMX like DK RM59, Haro AL, etc... and particularly the 2004 30th Redline Anniversary bike that has a 22.5 TT. When you ride only that, it's very nice, but when your ride again an OS bike for a long period and re ride a New School, you're taken aback. As I prefer Old School BMX, I decided to build me a BMX with modern advantages like V brakes and 1 1/8 steering, but who is very close from OS in term of feel and look.

Understandable, to each it’s own.. I’m actually building a redline pro 24 and it has 22”TT
