Well how was your season

I had a screwed up summer, with the meds I have to take, I cant be in the heat.  But I rebounded in the fall, went up to a 45/16 and surprised myself. Thought it would be hard for me. Turns out it was not- and 177mm cranks. Got my first win in 15 years. So the season was not all bad

D165 on 20, (that will change once all points are in)
D 74 on 24 (that is a lock)

2020 is a big change for me- on my own no more Stylin, (our leader is tired)
ADR  racing will be repping my old shop (owners deceased) they treated me like family and the daughter said "they would be proud that you are racing"
Repping my new sponsor #cheapseatracing- check em on instagram.

Looks like a year of change and prosperity for this old dude big_smile

Re: Well how was your season

Raced a lot and had a decent season. Didn't race the cruiser at all this year, so back to a 3 digit plate on that one.

District #16 on the 20 (may change a bit once all points are in)
State #1 (thanks to bonus points) 26-35 Int.

Hoping for a short winter and early spring, ready for the 2020 season to start.

Re: Well how was your season

I didn't race class any at all this season, I should have the highest plate number going into 2020 district, #142. Now in cruiser class, I dropped down to #14 witch I'm cool with. I spent half the race season restoring my Eurotrash, lol:cool:

Re: Well how was your season

Novice 40 - started in July

D279 class  - 13 races - missed the main only the one time in my first, finished with 4 wins, 3 2nds, and 5 3rds.
D90 cruiser - 1 race. Didn't qualify. That's enough points for 90th in Ontario

I see a high number of 142, and I'm starting to think that maybe Ontario should be split into two districts - 707 'boys' have points this year, and 132 'girls'. And geographically it's huge -  7+ hour drive from the easternmost to westernmost tracks in the district.

Re: Well how was your season

My kids started racing first week of August... well my youngest started Strider in July before his brothers. My 10 and 13 yr old started with numbers 992 and 993.

My 10 yr old hit the most races and is the most dedicated... never missed a main, had 9 wins out of 16 total races going into Grands but took 4th in mains (his lowest finish) the following weekend he moved up to Intermediate and this weekend he got his first Intermediate win. He will probably end up around 105 in the district when points are in.

My 13 yr old missed a few races due to school but ended the season with 7 wins. He missed one main local and didn't make the mains at Grands. He will probably end up about 135 after points are recorded.

Cant wait for 2020! We are planning to take some trips to bigger races and hope to make it to CA for one next year. cool

Re: Well how was your season

1st season racing in 35 years!  Although I didn't sign up and start racing until halfway through the season, so I only got 6 weeks of racing in.  Novice 45-50.
Did pretty well considering the fact that I'm 50 years old now.   Took a few 2nd and 3rd place finishes as well as my first ever 1st place finish in a moto.  I even got my first ever win in a main!!!  Probably the highlight of my season / summer.   I also had a nasty crash that rang my bell pretty good, but was fortunate to walk (slowly) away with no injuries or damage to the bike.
All in all...a blessed season for sure!

Re: Well how was your season

Exceeded all expectations!

First year racing since 1989.  Quickly moved from Novice to Intermediate.  State #1 for 46-50I.  Gold Cup #2 for 46-50I.  Made the class main at the ROC.  Made the mixed open main at the Grands.  I don't race often enough to chase district points, but should be #50 something in class and #40 something in cruiser.

Most importantly, met a bunch of good folks while racing and had lots of fun!

I should probably hang it up again.  I don't know how I'm going to top a year like 2019. smile

Re: Well how was your season

Started back racing in September after 24 years off. Cruiser only. Raced 9 local races, getting 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 3 thirds and 2 fourths. Raced my cruiser in 46-50 Novice at the Lonestar Nationals and got a 3rd and a 4th. Gonna end up either 38 or 39 in district on the 24. Not bad for 4 months of racing I think. Looking forward to next season!

Oh what fun.

My son raced,  four Nationals, two Gold Cups, 13 state races and 48 locals.  Looks like # 8 for district and he is state #6 in 15 expert.

I raced 10 state races and 31 locals.  Looks like # 76 for district and hold the state #1 in 51 & over novice.

Being that Kentucky only has one BMX track, the legendary Derby City BMX, we only have just about a 142 riders signed up for class.neutral

Looks like a 7 for him.

71 for me, I'm bummed I really wanted the #76, lots of potential coolness for a number plate.

Re: Well how was your season

Look at all you guys getting back into it, well done!

I raced more this year than I have in the past 15.
The old guy 36+ Summer Series I promoted really stepped my game up. I won one on them and did good usually. I think this is the fastest I’ve been since the early 2000’s.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/54248/8ece4de2-90b2-4310-8bfa-cfa9c8d42db65dfaa93736.jpeg

Re: Well how was your season

Can I play? My 3rd season after a 30-odd-year gap and am loving it more than I ever did bitd! Nothing much to write home about from a results point of view but I made it to 11 races at 4 tracks, 3 of which were new to me. Looking forward to more of the same in 2020! smile

Re: Well how was your season

I started racing about the 1st of July of this year. 5 thirds, 4 seconds, and 1 first all at my local track. I'm number 20 District PA02 Cruiser. I'm hitting Grippen Park BMX this January 18.

Re: Well how was your season

So glad to hear you guys that are getting back into it as well as the new kids!!

I had a very mild race season after I fell and broke my leg/separated my ankle. When I raced, I felt pretty fast, but just raced a few local races as I was getting back up to speed.

Feeling good for 2020 as my son plans to join me this season on this 2017 Hollywood we built up.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/200037/247c15ee-3541-4533-8389-9c86fde8cb395dfcd4d268.jpeg
