1982 Schwinn Predator

If it bleeds,  we can kill it....

Hi all.

This is my '82 Schwinn Predator Cr+Mo+Free.
I stand to be corrected,  but I don't think these were sold in Australia.  I certainly never saw one in the flesh,  but when I laid eyes on the ad in the December 1982 issue of BMX Plus magazine,  it became an object of my desire.
To my eyes, these had the best decals of any BMX going around.  A bit sinister, and alien-like.  The bikes certainly didn't seem to lack anything either. A full chrome-moly frame, and a raft of name brand bits and pieces.  And all yours for $174.95 US dollars!
Anyway,  I came across this frame set on the 'bay a little while ago, and had it shipped out to Oz by the US seller. After a good scrub it came up quite nicely.
A new set of decals, some NOS parts, and lots of repop parts had it looking good,  but what it needed was a set of rims that would suit the sinister look I was after.   And here it is........ I hope Arnie would approve.

Re: 1982 Schwinn Predator

Thanks dude.  I got the saddle free after a mix up when I ordered something else.  I've tried to convince myself that I like it...... but I don't!   At the moment it's just there to stop and unfortunate accidents.
Cheers.

Re: 1982 Schwinn Predator

REALLY cool Predator my friend! coolcool  Love the look, it is quite sinister... I hate to be "that guy", but this particular model year was 1983. The frame might have been manufactured in mid - late 1982 and available as early as August of '82, but this was the '83 model year. The last year for the teardrop gusset. sad  These are my favorite frames of all time! If ya haven't already, pop in over at the Predator thread and post her up over there, I know all of the boys and girls over there would love to see her. The link is below in my signature. PEACE!!! big_smilebig_smile
