Team Schwinn Maximisers Tires not NOS but they were until Steve decided to let his kid ride on them, cleaned up well for 40yr old rubber and nylon, 1st yr produced (1980) team Schwinn Maximisers which became the factory installed tire for the Sting by late 1981. Made by National Tire Co and same tire co that made NTKK motocross tire and Snakebelly for Cyclepro and nearly identical to the Snakebelly. The Snakebelly and Team Schwinn are the acceptable tire to use for the STING. Team Schwinn Maximisers are 1st year 1980 dated same year as this Sting. This Blue Sting frame and forks are from CSears, who I traded a 1979 Blue Sting for. So the original Blue 1979 was a complete bike from someone in Texas who raced it a few times as a kid in the 80s and has been stored since. He sold it to Steve L, a member of the Schwinn Sting club, who sold it to me. Chris detailed the complete bike and made if prefect. He traded out the Texas 1979 Blue sting for his 1980 Blue Sting, which was the better condition frame set. However Chris wanted to enter a bike into the under 1980 class, thus the trade for my 1979 Blue Sting. A win win trade, especially for me! Details on the history provided by Chris S.
Want to Buy (WTB): NOS Frame sets 1979 to 1985 old school BMX (race bikes).
I am searching for a paranoids’ anonymous meeting (PA), however nobody will tell me where it is!
