Kastan Brought Back To Life!
This is my brother-in-law's Kastan that I restored several years ago for him. The seat stays were cracked just behind the seat post, Chip at C4Labs did the repair. He also had the frame and cranks rechromed. The Uni-Blade fork is in original condition. The majority of the remaining parts were NOS. He has owned the bike since it was new and just had it sitting in the basement wasting away. I did the restoration and build without his knowledge and surprised him, he was beyond words. I thought it was time to share, enjoy!

What kind of tires? The tread looks familiar but I can't place it.

Well done!
You must really love your in law. What was his reaction when you showed it to him?

Re: Kastan Brought Back To Life!
Thanks for all the kind comments! I believe the tires are some sort of snakebelly but I don't remember what brand. Yes that is a Kastan stem and bars. When he saw it for the first time restored he was basically speechless! He was extremely moved for sure!

Damn that is just killer! Well done!
Can you post up some close ups of the stem?

Re: Kastan Brought Back To Life!
Did chip do the chrome on the frame? Looks great!
P.S. I have serious doubts about that being a Kastan stem. Please elaborate.

Re: Kastan Brought Back To Life!
i wouldn't have had it re-chromed but since the seat stays were both cracked it was necessary. I don't have any before pics or close ups of the stem. I can try to remember to take a couple the next time I am at his place.

Re: Kastan Brought Back To Life!
The stem could be a Pro Neck, I honestly don't remember. The bars are Kastan though.

Same here. I have got to get my 95 built. I just love black and chrome and this is my favorite Kastan yet. IMO, it's a perfect build.
