2018 Custom Built Pro Freestyle Tour
2018 Custom Built Pro Freestyle Tour
The Bonze Frankenstein Collection
Another added custom bike for my collection I hand crafted repurposing old thrashed frames. I always liked the looks of the GT freestyle bikes back in the day as well so I've made myself a new school version. More in the works to come. This is my personal collection that I'm officially labeling; The Bonze Frankenstein Collection.
Approx. a 92 / 93 GT Vertigo frame and unknown new school frame.
- GT Grips
- GT Bars
- GT Piston Stem
- GT LP5 Tires
- GT Crank
- GT Pedals
- GT Seat and Post
- Tech77 Levers
- Original Upper Odyssey Gyro Cable
- Knock Off Flip Down Fork Standers
- Haro Lineage SATA 36s Wheels
- Profile Imperial 25T Sprocket
- Odyssey Springfield Brakes

Re: 2018 Custom Built Pro Freestyle Tour
Awesome rendition! so you basically took a 92 Performer, changed the headtube, bottom bracket and rear dropouts and added 990 mounts? slick! Is there some work also in the seat mast area, around the gt stamped cylinder (what the guys on here call the roll-of-coins)? It came out almost identical to a GT reproduction frame Dylan Worsley made for me two years ago! Ryan from Hawaii was the first to do one with Dylan, and after seeing his, I decided to make my own version with him, this one of yours is pretty cool as well, AND is, in fact a GT, mine was made basically for riding, so it works for those purposes.
About your signature, is that the spoon from Coming to America? lol

Matrix. Coming to America is a great movie...
And thank you by the way, this like the other bikes was a fun build.
By no means is this thing perfect but rides beautifully well. Using a pretty well beat up new school frame I basically took one piece out at a time replacing it with the next trying to keep the new school geometry. First was the top tube and rear upper stays by cutting them out the new school frame leaving the 25.4 seat mast and replacing it with the GT top tube and upper rear stays later on putting on the 990 mounts. I had to dissect the GT top tube out from the old mast, dropout plates, and headtube then fill the old mast hole while having to remake a new hole for placement of the new school mast tube. Hence the reason for the new mast tube being tied into the roll-of-coins tube thus keeping the geometry and a 20.5" top tube length. Next was the downtube cutting it out then replacing it with the down S-tube. I sleeved and extended the S-tube approx. an 1.5" on both sides. I like the clean look of internal cable routing so the cables run inside the tubes. Thank you again brother, you have a sick collection of bikes going on my friend.

That’s so cool but can you show me how rear cable guide inside the frame. How do you put it inside even 2 to 1 cable in it?
I love how you did to it!

Thank you sir. I made this bike only to run dual lower cables. The cables are set up the way they are now to keep a linear pull on the rear brake so the brake doesn't bind up and still releases from the rim like it should. I could've of made an that option but the pull on the brake would of been a steep angle in my opinion causing the brake to not actuate properly while stressing the brake arms.
I did put that option on my custom Master but it is not internally get routed by doing so.
I have a custom 88 Diamond Back Strike Zone in the works as we speak. It will have the two to one lower gyro cable internally routed.
And when running the cables inside the tubes I run or fish the cable through first, then the cable the opposite way.
