Re: NBA

Cavs had 7 years to build a team around hm to win championships. Got close, but no cigar. Thats all he wants is championships. Has a better chance now in Miami. And in the end, Ohio's beloved son will still bring home a trophy, and they who matter will be proud.

At least James did it the right way. Put ego aside, and put aside being the "star" player on the team, and is taking less money. Its nice to see it's more about wanting to win, then having the biggest bank account, or payday.

Can't wait to see what they will do. They did well with each other while playing with the USA Basketball Team this last olympics.

Re: NBA

He's going to Miami because of no state tax or at least that's the reason he gave us in Chicago because our tax rate here is so crazy mad he will saving over 2.5 million alone on that so roll

Re: NBA

After seven years LeBron realized that he's not the man and lacks the stones and competitive fire to win it all. So he's going to play Pippen to DWade who's already won the title. His legacy is now forever tarnished, and any title he wins only furthers Wade's legacy, not his own.

Very well said Bill ......

Being a Miami Fan for many years , i am super stoked ...
I was just happy keeping Wade and adding Bosh , BUT Lebron James ??
It means i wont be attending any games this year or 2 untill the hype dies down and the seats are somehwat reasonable and if we do get rings , i might just have to upgrade my TV cause decent seats are gonna be expensive...

I remember myself as a kid , i always loved the bulls simply cause they had Jordan and Won championships while my heat always came up short ... Im excited for kids all around the US who will be tuning in to watch ...

Re: NBA

I hate teams that are bought. I like teams that are built from the ground up. It's pretty much a dead science now with free agency though.

Huh ? If it wasn't for Lebron, the Cavs wouldn't have gone as far as they have into the playoffs. Its called lack of a supporting cast who has talent, and skill to push it through. Its a TEAM game. A one man show cant, and wont win championships, and that was proven, and has been proven for decades in the NBA. Who did Magic have, or Jordan, or Kobe, or Duncan, or Bird, or, or, or.

The Cavs dropped the ball on that one. Lebron gave his heart and soul to that team, and city.

Only thing that will have any tarnish on his legacy is now not winning a championship or two.

Re: NBA

i'm sure those 3 will play well together.  but i think they still need to beef up their bench players.  they don't really have anyone else.

kinda crazy what the Cleveland owner is saying.  can't believe that's coming from an owner.  pretty crazy drama.

Re: NBA

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue

capital

Well, he had the key to delivering that promise, but he didn't build around that key with that said "capital". If they would have spent that "capital", that by the way, was made from, because of, Lebron, they could have picked much better players, to achieve that goal that he worked his arse of for you for the last 7 years to try to get.

Have fun getting your arse handed to you 2 times a year for the next 5 years.

Re: NBA

Professional sports is a 'world unto it's own'...fans don't matter
anymore, except for their money! Loyalty doesn't matter anymore,
  either a player's to his team...OR the team's to it's players!

Players themselves always say 'all they want to do is win a title',
yet you seldom see a player willing to 'take less money' so that his
team can 'spend more' on getting better players!

James carried Cleveland on his back for 7 years...the team never
got him 'any help'...can't blame him for moving to a team that he
knows is capable of winning NOW-especially with him on board!

Owners seldom seem to realize-don't know WHY,as money isn't
the problem-otherwise they wouldn't BE an owner-that when your
team has a 'legitimate superstar',you KEEP him...you build around
HIM...you DON'T trade him for 'other players-no matter how MANY'...
and you don't 'let him go to free agency!'...NOT if you REALLY care
  about winning!

My local Mariners have 'the BEST pitcher' they've had since Randy
Johnson-whom they ALSO let get away-in Cliff Lee! They're gonna
screw around and 'trade him away'-if they haven't already! Rather than
keep him happy-and get other players to help him win-they're gonna
'get what they can' for him! Aside from Ichiro,Lee's the ONLY star
they have...yet,because they have no loyality to him, they're gonna
  dump him!

Why the fans here keep supporting the Marniners is a 'total
mystery' to me! They'll NEVER win without 'better pitching'-and Lee's
one of the BEST they've ever had-yet they're gonna trade him-most
likely to the Yankees-so HE can 'come back' to beat them for the
  next several years!

I personally wish LeBron James and his new team 'all the best'...
and IF I were an NBA fan,I'd probably root for them! At least now,the
Lakers 'are no longer a shoo-in' next year!
