Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Hearing mixed reviews on this. Some saying is 80s style shootemup, other saying it’s an SJW fest. Looking for a hopefully unbiased opinion. Anyone seen it?

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Not seen it but interested too.

Surely, at his age, it shouldn't be called Rambo: Last Blood. It should be called Rambo: Thin Blood. tongue

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Ahaha for real. He was looking rough in the expendables movies, so I can only imagine now... unless they do some heavy cgi retouching.

I’m hoping for an old fashioned shoot em up, one man army, 1000 rounds without reloading kind of deal.

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

I don't think they CGI de-aged him.

Basically, first movie... revenge on small town cops who tormented him.
Second movie... revenge against viet cong who tormented him.
Third movie... revenge against Afganistan
Fourth movie... revenge against Burma
Fifth movie... revenge against Mexican cartel

So, if you go in knowing its a carnage fest and heavily 'MERICA!! then its all you would hope for

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Even though he's old I think the story line fits.  From what I gather he has paid his debt to society, spending his final years on a ranch, and for whatever reason someone wants him dead.  I'll wait for it to go to DVD and get it from the library.

In movie John Rambo's niece is kidnapped by Mexican cartel and sold into sex slavery, when she goes to Mexico to help her friend find her friends real Dad. Much violence ensues.

Plot line reminiscent of:

“If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it.”

On my way for 930 show. Got a theater by me that nobody really uses. Big one 2 miles up street. So no crowds here. Chime in after with my official opinion.

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Entire movie can be seen in 2 minute preview on tv. Predictable and almost depressing. Slow and boring for first hour and it’s a 1hr39min movie. Wait to see it on dvd/cable/firestick

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Hello,

You all just need to unthink the potential and relive the 80s. For all of you that can't do this - your loss.

The 80s had some of the best movies ever conceived and their sequels are worth watching so long as the actor is alive.

Whether it is Rambo, Rocky, Die Hard, Karate Kid, Terminator, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones or Ghostbusters, they are all gold and the concepts will never be equaled. For all of you 90s/2000s/2010s kids, you don't get to judge.

Stallone is a master as is all of his peers from the era. Sure, the plot sucks but judge from the origins point of view and allow a bit of leniency. They won't be around for ever and I challenge you all to recommend me a good movie series (not Netflix) from this decade.

Michael

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

I am most likely going to the theater to see this movie anyway because it’s stallone and honestly we only have a few movies left of his before he’s dead.

Yeap. Exactly why I went. Girls 10 years younger and she went with me. Probably only for the popcorn, boos, then Starbucks coffee the theatre has though! Only cost be 50 bucks! Wtf.

Not true. I never watched the middle of saving private Ryan till I was in my 30s because whenever I had a date over I would put that movie on. Always saw the first and last 15 min of that movie.

Re: Any one see the new Rambo movie?

Regardless if the movie is not so great and predictable,I still want to watch if for the sake of Stallone! I still much prefer to watch his movies vs anything the Rock is in.
