Looks like a bmx bike to me.

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Both were last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA around 1984. $600 reward if found!!

+ 1 Gears kill the BMX cool factor for me. Also the drop outs look more mountain bikeish.

Multi speed is not BMX to me (Unless your name is Darrell Young but I hate Browning 2 speeds as well).

The bars tell me yes. The gears tell me no. You decide.

It's a cruiser/klunker/mtb hybrid.  Not BMX, Cab doesn't like BMX using his name anyway - why associate him with it?

You could put road bike bars on it but that doesn't make it a road bike. The interchangeable parts don't define a bike. The fixed ones do. Dropouts, disc brake and derailleur mounts etc.

Re: Do you still consider this BMX? 27.5 Steve Cab bike

Look at the picture again, and imagine it without the third frame tube, and it looks like any of a million other commuter/comfort bikes, but with bmx cruiser bars, a bmx stem, and some Profiles (are those Profiles? Looks like it). Does those parts make it bmx and not a commuter? Not in my book.
