Those look like something I would weld myself and I am not a welder. I would post gory details, no way Torker made something that crappy.

Man those are some pricey forks? Just curious but do you have 2 Torker Freestylists as you have 2 sets of forks? Personally I have never had a set in hand so other than the bad welds it would be hard for me to ID, luckily you have something to compare to. Were they sold as NOS or did he say they were redone?

I guess he is just in it for the money. You got me for a lot of money. I hope it feels good.

Funny thing is as soon as I won the auction, he messaged to ask if I has a Freestylist. I don't think he expected me to have a frame set in hand. I actually bought the forks to try on another frame I have no forks for. I figured if it didn't work I could sell or trade them. I won't have any part in these forks being used to scam someone else. Too close of a copy besides the welds when you have them up close.

And he did auction off more. And he could care less when I contacted him. Ridiculed me.
They're out there.

Thank you!

You are probably one of the few people that have a real to compare to and the seller wasn’t counting on that... neutral

Wasn't fun. If I sold them as fakes trying to get back a little bit of cash, someone can turn around and burn someone else.
Thanks man! big_smile

Considering how he claimed to be Mr. Torker, I can't see how he would not know they were fakes. Every person who commented here said fake immediately. Would love to see what and if this guy has anything to say.
He had zero concern if what he sold me was real or not. Just the money.

I even said lets put it up to the community and see what turned out. Told him if they were real I had no problem keeping them cause I could trade or sell them. He would not agree to refunding if they were determined fake.

I just want to add I've owned an early set of torker race forks and the fork legs were off when welded to the steer tube an eighth of an inch or more.If I can find the old pics I'll post them.

Re: Torker Freestylist Forks. Real Or Not Real. There Are Others Out There

Good on you for destroying them.
The sad truth is that there is a ton of fake items in circulation and most is unknown.
That’s part of why folks who embrace and support phony shit are / have ruined this hobby.

Two big items that were phony’d up were SE big boy and pro bars and GT tall and pro bars.
Also, lots of phony SE landing gear forks in circulation.

Sucks to see this happening a lot lately, and people with pretty good feedback too, really sucks that you got taken for that much cash...even if you didn’t buy them here, I still think that’s grounds for a negative feedback and to be listed as a fraud hmm

Re: Torker Freestylist Forks. Real Or Not Real. There Are Others Out There

Most important thing is now its out there. He admitted to selling 2 others, one to someone in the UK who was begging him as he put it. There are more out there.
I still have the pieces and might turn it into something cool. Will definitely keep them as a reminder. This guy knew damn well what he was doing. He could care less if what I bought from him was real or fake parts.
