Re: Haro Score

Nice!

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Re: Haro Score

Very nice. What’s the story? Just a CL pick? Original owner saving his paper route money all summer to get, etc? I always like to hear how it come about.

Popped up on Marketplace a couple weeks ago. Guy wanted the moon for it, and also would not ship it.
I was in Shipshewana Indiana yesterday and remembered he lived near there.
So I hit him up, it wasn't sold, and the cash in hand price was about the cost of the Group 1 stem.
It was his OG bike. Really only non stock parts I can see are the tires.
Although the brake cable doesn't go through both cable guides on the top tube, so I'm unsure on that.
I'll clean it up as soon as I get some time.

I picked up a 87 Windstyler the same way in Holland MI two weeks ago.
Same deal, his ebay deal fell through, cash in hand is always king.
I didn't post pics, as I took it apart to clean it as soon as I got it home.
I'll post up when it's cleaned up also.

Doesn't seem to be a common color on this bike looking through the museum pics.
I only see 5 this color.
It should clean up nice. I hope.

Re: Haro Score

Thanks for sharing the story, always love hearing that part. I had a feeling OG owner since it still has the reflectors. Very cool and yes, not too common color which is nice.

Got mine like this added the right fork, stem, and changed the bars to CW bc that was my preference as a kid, swapped out the tires and pedals and we have one of my daily riders .
Good luck great bike ! I love yours.

Yours looks like it will be really nice.  I remember that color to be kind of rare.

Re: Haro Score

My first Haro! Yours is in exceptional condition, really only needs some blue tires to be back to original. Great score.

I'm on the hunt for some appropriate blue tires now.

Heres my profound, life changing statement.
Lifes a bitch..PASS ME A BEER.

They're reacting and that's wonderful. It's better than them sitting there doing nothing. I say make them react - do whatever's in your power to move the audience, and if that's where it is, and there where it is with America, sex and violence, then I say project it.
