1977 Schwinn Competition Scrambler

Classic BMX

Bike is how I found it, minus pedals, light cleaning and re-packed bearings. These bikes are fairly rare and I’m happy to have this one in my collection. 1976 serial number, but probably rolled out of the Schwinn shop as you see it in early 77, except for tires and seat. Seat was probably added in 78 and the tires in 79. I recently added the handlebar and stem pad.

Re: 1977 Schwinn Competition Scrambler

Been wondering if this would be considered a 1976 or 1977.  I've noticed these weren't listed in the 1976 catalog (first listed in the 1977 catalog), just wondering if they might have been released mid year to get Schwinn more into the BMX market ASAP.

Still ultra cool either way. cool

Re: 1977 Schwinn Competition Scrambler

RAYSIN helped me with serial number and Julian date. Frame was built in November of 76 and final assembly was May 4, 1977.
